Anyone seeking a worthwhile career in business, industry, government or the professions, needs the ability to write good professional business letters and e.mails. Members with a knowledge of English equivalent to our “Professional English” Program will learn to understand and to use “business” terms and expressions, and learn to write effective business letters/ emails on a wide variety of topics. Using many specimen letters and e.mails we show how to create correspondence which are appropriate and effective, with the correct wording, grammar, spelling, tone and layout needed to achieve their objectives, and give confidence to recipients of such communications.
Major Topics Covered in this course:
Why business letters and e.mails are written: their objectives, special features, layout and appearance.
English used in business today: increasing vocabulary, improving English and writing style.
Sales letters, e.mails and other promotional material: first approach, responses to enquiries, follow-up letters, customer retention, circulars.
Letters and e.mails making complaints, responding to complaints made. Letters dealing with accounts matters.
Letters and e.mails to and from government departments, lawyers, educationists, banks, estate agents, and others.
Other email correspondence
Small talk for conversations outside of meetings.
Fees and details
Fee: Euro 500 for two weeks intensive (9.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs daily)
20 lessons per week
or part time 4 lessons per week held in the evenings from 18.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs
The part time course is held twice weekly.
